Kumareng Frelyn

If you're here in the Philippines and you watch television... you probably have seen this TVC:

This TVC for Pampers Comfort is actually a mini-series; this one above is just the teaser. When I first saw this, it sure looked like any other TVCs I have seen. I got to see the first part of the series and it was still like that... until I got to see the second part (videos are not available in YouTube yet, so the one above is all I can share for now).

I am not a mother and diapers aren't my thing, but the reason why I am sharing the video and I am posting this here on my blog is because one of the actresses (the one on the left side - in purple) is actually a good friend of mine.

Frelyn and I were classmates in college, and yes, we belonged in the same clique. First two years of college, we were super duper close, until our group had a big problem which caused us to be closer to other people. Even so, we all remained great friends.

These pictures were taken in 2002, when she hosted a little send off party because she will be traveling to Japan for work. She's actually a great performer - and she has been in different countries to work as a singer. Currently, she's in the Philippines but we still haven't met yet.

These may be taken nearly ten years ago, but this wasn't the last time I saw her. I got to visit her in 2008, but we weren't able to see each other since then because she has been in and out of the country.

We may not be really close, but she will always be a dear friend to me. She has been through a lot in her life and I admire her strength and courage.

The little girl in the pictures is her daughter (my very first goddaughter). That little girl is now a very fine, pretty young lady, and I hope to see her again.

Little details about the pictures:
  • These were taken in Frelyn's house in Manila.
  • That time, I was living with my friend Lhyne (the one on my right), and the man beside her in the last picture was her boyfriend that time. They're no longer together.
  • The guy with the cap and the lady in gray are now married.
It's been so long, but some things never changed - she's still pretty and looking so young, while I am still fat, but of course in time that will change, too. :)
