What Made Me Happy This Week

Tuna Sandwich

Taking More Fiber. We all know what whole wheat can give us, so I went to buy some. At first, I was taken aback when I realized whole wheat bread had more calories and sodium compared to the regular bread, but when I read that "only whole wheat can help you burn fat"(compared to other wheat food products), I decided to continue with it. This way, I also get to take in fiber goodness from the cucumber and omega goodness from tuna. To make my breakfast healthier, I don't put in mayonnaise anymore, and to lessen the calorie intake, I just eat one slice of bread. :)

Batangas Super Sized Cook Off

Sister Covering an Event for Me. I received an invitation to attend the SM Hypermarket "Super Sized Cook Off" held in Batangas City, but I received an invitation from my close high school friends at the same date, too. I asked if sister could cover for me, but I was told sister was part of the invitees, too, so practically, she didn't have to cover the event for me, but of course, I still would write about the event on my blog. I was a bit sad, too, because this could have been the time I get to meet Mary Ann (the woman in orange - front of the picture) in person. She has been a friend of mine in Facebook for lots of years now (I met her at the scrapbooking circle). Anyway, I am just thankful that sister had a great time at the event.

Classic Savory

Eating Out. Since I took the path to wellness, the only time I eat out was whenever I receive invitation for events. Here at home, I would always say no to invitations from my family to eat out, but this day, I simply had no choice. Hahaha. Well, it sure is fun to eat out with family, but of course, I tried to make sure my choices were good.

Latte Love

Attending an Event. I was so touched to receive a "bloggers pass" for the Latte Love - a latte art workshop. Not only was I able to see bloggy friends (and meet a new bloggy friend), I also got to see how baristas create wonderful works of art using coffee as their canvass and milk froth and choco syrup as their ink. Best of all, I was able to take my mom at the event - and she got to see what I do during events.

At the event, too, I got to win 2 boxes of Pasabache drinking glasses (4 glasses each box), which I asked mom to wrap it for Christmas if she doesn't want it here in our home (well, I could say we do have a lot of drinking glasses here). Also, this event paved way for my mom to meet my second cousin (and a bloggy friend, too) Marjorie. When sister and I told mom that we met a cousin through blog events, telling her how she became our cousin was a very confusing exchange of statements. Turns out, my mom knows Marge's grandmother more, even if her grandfather is actually our family. Marge's grandfather is my paternal grandfather's brother.

Entering Month 2 of my wellness journey has been happy. True, getting up early and doing as much exercises can be tough, but I am already seeing myself happy in doing these things.
