Beauty in Bran

Oh my gosh... it felt like ages since I last posted anything kikay on this blog. :) Well, not that I have lost interest in all things girly, I just haven't tried anything new, until Blogapalooza.

My food blog is the one part of the Blogapalooza community, but since the companies that presented that day weren't about food, I decided to just write an in-depth post about the other companies, but of course I will make a post on my food blog, too, as my way of saying thank you for the items they gave us.

I concentrated on the food post first, so it was just last week that I went through my "biggest" loot bag again to check the other items. The first thing I opened was the Oryspa gift pack, so I guess I would start with that.

Oryspa

Oryspa (read: O-rayi-spa) is a Filipino brand that specializes in beauty / baby products made from rice bran (their name is taken by rice's scientific name: oryza sativa). All of their products are made from natural ingredients and have no carcinogenic effect. This was the first time I heard about beauty products made from rice bran, but the first time I heard about it, I mumbled, "why not?" the Philippines is a big rice producing country, it was a good way to use our own crop for our beauty products.

The calming baby powder is a bit rough in consistency, but true to what was written on its label, it absorbs skin wetness and moisturizes the skin. It may be a bit rough on the skin, but even after how many hours of applying it on my face, I could still feel my face smooth because of it. My face tends to get oily, and thankful to this baby powder, I don't have to worry about my face shining after a few hours of applying baby powder. It smells like Angel's Breath cologne, by the way.

The meditation balm on the other hand smells a bit like Vick's. It says it soothes aches and pains, and once I tried applying it on my shoulder. It was a good massage balm - not so greasy and it smelled wonderful. It wouldn't warm the skin at once, but after a few minutes you'd feel its effect (yes, the skin will get warm after a few minutes). Since it has a minty scent and that its container is a bit small, it's something I think I will carry around to help ease motion sickness whenever I go out.

I love both this products, and I am thankful that Blogapalooza became the medium for me to know their products. They actually have a lot of products aside from these two, so if you want to check what they can offer, you can check their website or their Facebook page. Currently, their products are available at SM City Calamba, SM City Sta. Rosa, and Robinsons Town Mall Los BaƱos - all in the province of Laguna.
