Day Seven: TAG-MNL Flight
31 August 2011
A month before this trip, mom and I were really hoping time would run faster, but now that it was about to end, we were wishing we could turn back time.

Our flight was scheduled at 10:45am, so we still have until 9am at the resort. Mom and I decided to wake up early so we could take our morning shower earlier - giving us more time to roam around and savor our last few moments in Bohol. Right after eating breakfast, we walked by the beach, enjoying the low tide. That's my shadow and my mom wearing white/green clothes.

We were already at the airport around 10am, and because this would be the first time my mom would walk at the tarmac and take the stairs to the entrance of the plane, I told her to be quick and alert as I would take pictures of her. It was so funny seeing my mom (now 62 years old) looking like a child taking delight in every moment.

The plane left on time, and because my ticket was purchased on a much later date than my mom and her friends' tickets, I processed my own boarding pass and asked the ticketing officer to give me a window seat. Imagine my happiness upon knowing I was given the seat just behind my mom's seat. :) We can chit-chat while traveling. Hahaha.

Somewhere in Batangas, the pilot said that because of heavy air traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, we were put on hold until further notice. It took nearly 20 minutes before we were given the go signal, and although the waiting time delayed our arrival, I think it was still pretty cool to see the plane maintaining its position and would turn around after 5minutes and be back at the same spot. :)

It was an hour-long flight, but we were given free snacks - a cup (make that 3/4 cup) of coffee, and a pack each of peanuts and Graham Crackers.

It was around 1pm when mom and I arrived home. Sister was already waiting for us outside the neighborhood to help us carry our things, and seeing her made me feel just how much I missed her. I loved to be home, see my cats... and use my net book again. :)
It was a very memorable trip - all six days of it. I am thankful for all the blessings that came our way, and I am thankful that even if the family weren't together for that long (sister was left home, brother was in Cagayan de Oro), all of us were safe and sound.
