My First Blog Event

Last night, Fran tagged me in a post for a cooking demo by Yummy Magazine, and today being "Nostalgia" day, I decided to share some pictures of the day when I got to meet Fran... and some other bloggers.

In 2008, even if I already have my Blogger blog (now closed), I still am very much active in Multiply, because I have more contacts there, who would always comment on my posts (when I first used Blogger, I felt kinda sad that no one's commenting on my posts). Anyway, June of 2008, I logged on to Multiply and I saw an advert posted by Yehey! saying they will be giving free lunch to selected bloggers. Knowing my Blogger blog was updated, I decided to click on it and supplied my details. Before the day ended, I received an e-mail saying I was in. :)

The event was held at the Italianni's branch in Bonifacio High Street (Taguig). My sister, who was still in college that time, didn't have classes so I tagged her along (I did ask the organizers if I could tag her). We were served quite a lot for lunch, even including some "extras," because this was Italianni's way of launching their "Something Extra" promo.

While eating lunch, I heard participants talking about this and that event, making me realize that most of them already knew each other. I don't consider myself "new" to blogging that time, but it was the day that I learned about events for bloggers, and this day paved the way for me participating in several blog events over the course of time.

This picture was taken by Azrael, who I still get to meet in several events. Last time I saw him was at the "Seafood Festival" event by Max's Restaurant - March of this year. The one on the left is Juned Sonido, who is part of the Philippine Blog Awards. The one in blue is Fran, who is still one of my blog pals. Last I saw her was during the Yummy Eats event by Yummy Magazine (June this year). In this event, too, I was able to meet Jonel, who was the reason why I was able to go to Mt. Pinatubo (he organized that one). Last I saw him was at the Pinoy_Blogfest 2.0 event, last Friday.

Like I said, this event opened the gates for me into this wonderful side of blogging. Although I only got to attend two events in 2008 (the other one was for Burger King), and only a few in 2009 and 2010, this year has been a great year for me as far as attending blog events are concerned. I feel really blessed receiving invitations from several companies hoping I could attend their events, and although I wasn't able to attend to every event, I sure am looking forward to more events - as I also get to meet fellow bloggers, talk and mingle with them, and learn more about blogging.
