- Finishing house chores before leaving the house.
- Attending the Cooking Demo by Yummy Magazine and Knorr.
- Seeing blogger pals.
- Tasting new foods.
- Entering EDSA Shrine to say some prayers (mostly gratitude).
I am a big fan of Yummy Magazine, and I find it quite touching whenever they invite me to certain events. Six dishes prepared for the afternoon, and although participants only had a bite or two of the dishes cooked, tasting new foods has been one of life's gastronomic pleasures. Add to that, there were two chefs who prepared the dishes - chef Angelo Comsti (who contributes to certain magazine) and celebrity chef Tristan Encarnacion. Chef Tristan prepared the foods using Knorr products (because he's the product endorser), and all tasted good. Of course, part of the happiness is seeing blogger pals again - I got to see Mommy Lariza, Yedy, Glenn, Fran, and Abet.
I admit I got to eat quite a lot today, but I guess I can consider this as my cheat day (ex bf didn't like the idea of "cheat" day, however, and I got scolded a bit). Teehee!

"Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." - Matthew 19:14
In our own way, what can we do to protect the rights of the children?
I don't know much about the RH Bill (its scopes and limitations), so I won't go to that subject, and instead, I guess one of good things we can do to protect the children is to take care of them. That being said, I am really in favor of having sex education in school - teaching the students of how difficult it can be to have a child. I got to watch a documentary about teenage parents, and while I commend them for keeping their babies (despite of their poor situation - earning money through gathering recyclables in dump sites), I know they are still way too young to support a growing family. This is quite a sensitive topic to discuss, but one thing's for sure, I don't respect parents who can't give their children the good life they deserve. Good doesn't mean giving them luxurious items... good means giving them education, proper nutrition, proper clothing and shelter. All the more that I don't respect people who abort or abandon their children.
I guess we can protect the rights of the children by educating the would-be parents first.
- Breakfast - 1/2 cup of rice + leftover Tuna with Sotanghon
- Lunch - 1 cup rice, 1 piece fried fish
- Afternoon Snacks - Samples of dishes cooked at the demo (roughly a teaspoon each): Fried Pork Spareribs with Salt and Pepper, Clay Pot Chicken and Rice, Chicharon Rice, Fresh Chicken Rolls, Crispy Laing Pockets, Pork Adobo sa Gata; 1 cup of Hong Kong Style Noodles; 1 Regular cup Pearl Milk Tea (70% Sugar) by Chatime
- Dinner - 1 cup rice, 1 fried chicken (drumstick) - dipped in Mang Tomas + Chili Sauce
Pictures of the foods from the Cooking Demo will be posted tomorrow on my Food Blog. I did feel a little guilty having to eat Hong Kong Style Noodles (which sis and I ate when we arrived in Robinson's Galleria), but it was something I haven't tasted yet, so I tried. As for the Pearl Milk Tea, sister and I needed something to drink after the cooking demo, and sis told me this was Serenitea's competitor so we tried it out. If there's one thing I am thankful for, it would be that I chose to go with "less sugar" instead of going normal (100% sugar). At least, even when eating out, I can say I am slowly learning.
EXERCISE
No definite exercise routine for me today because I did the laundry as soon as I got out of bed, but I could say I had a good sweat from scrubbing off the "lumot" on our stone-washed floors and stairs, as well as our side of the street. Rains brought it a lot of lumot forming in the cemented surface, and we didn't want to get injured, so we scrubbed it. Actually, it was mom who started scrubbing it, as I was doing the laundry, but I didn't want her to exert too much effort, so I took the brush and did the scrubbing, while the machine was washing the clothes. Thankfully, my sister took over the scrubbing when the washing machine buzzed.
Also, walking has been a way of physical activity for me today, but I was uncomfortable a bit because the nail on my big toe (left foot) chipped off today. Ouch.
