My family loves food. This year, I have been a very blessed food blogger (you can check my food blog HERE), because I did get invited to some food events, and I am even more blessed because in many instances, I have been tagging my sister, hence sharing the moment with her as well.
I received an invitation to attend the Max's Restaurant media launch for their "Chicken-All-You-Can" promo. Together with other bloggers, my sister and I feasted on as much fried chicken as we can eat (though we only ate two chicken quarters). There was also a game to help bloggers know about each other, and luckily, sister and I were picked to be teammates and our team won the game. We received GC for one whole fried chicken, which we can use within the year.
I joined a contest by Mochicko in Facebook and won a pack of their limited edition Choconut Mochi. I was told I could pick up my prize at the Mercato Centrale within the month of June and sis and I decided to pick it up today. I wasn't able to get a decent picture of my mochi because we took it home and the ice cream melted, but I did get to take some other pictures at the weekend market. I look forward to another trip to this weekend market because I felt my pictures weren't good enough to actually make a good post on my food blog.
Tristan, the man behind "Ten Minutes Tops" and "Bloggers Buffet" organized the first bloggers' buffet at Carol's Texan 5, and I was lucky to be picked to be part of the buffet. I was able to tag my sister to the event, and aside from knowing many bloggers and eating lotsa foods, we also were able to see our second cousin Marjorie in person. Our late father and Marjorie's mother are cousins, and she was able to "find" us through Facebook. It was an awesome, awesome event that I surely won't forget.

There was a survey that asked, "Which SM Hypermarket is nearest to you?" I answered the question just for the sake of answering it, and surprisingly, I received an invitation to watch a Cooking Event. It was open to everyone, but three bloggers were chosen to cover the event. Not only were we able to taste foods, we also had the privilege to take pictures of the plated foods before it was distributed to the people who watched the event.
Chef Deejay Santos cooked three dishes - a pasta dish, a chicken dish, and a seafood dish, and among those three, I liked the Spicy Prawns in Hoisin Sauce more.
Anyway, my sister wasn't really invited for this event, but because she was at the mall and we were set to meet because we will eat dinner together, I just asked her to watch the event, too, so she could take pictures (as she is a blogger now, too). Luckily, one of the bloggers invited for the event didn't arrive, so sister got all the privileges. :)
The FOOD Kitchen Series was first scheduled 25 June, but because of a typhoon, the event was moved to this day. The event was free of charge, but willing participants had to pre-register, and I was happy that sister and I were accepted for this event. It was a real gastronomic treat, and aside from eating, I was also able to pose pictures with Chef Andreas Gillar, who made the Black Forest Cake. He was one awesome chef!
It has been a great bonding moment with sister, and now that we are both bloggers, I am looking forward in spending more food moments with her.
Of course, I know I have to work on my diet and fitness. I gained an awful lot of weight in the last three months - simply by abusing the privilege to eat. I just couldn't resist eating lots of rice at home. :)
