Nostalgia | My Sacred Heart Connection

My cat Teddy decided to give birth in our cabinet filled with old photo albums, so I took some time to clean the area. Of course, I also took the time to flip through the pages and come across this very old picture:

This was one of the pictures taken during my baptism. To save money, my parents decided to celebrate it in time for my brother's birthday (six months after I was born), so we can have a two-in-one celebration. At that time, we were living in V. Luna so they chose to have me baptized at the Sacred Heart Parish located in Kamuning, Quezon City. This was also the same church where my brother was baptized. From left to right - Ninong Troy, my mom, Ninang Edna, Ninang Ces, Ninang Aida, my dad, Tita Mols and her husband Ninong Tom.

Since the time we moved here (in our current residence), I only got to "re-trace" my past once - when the family went to attend a birthday party near our old house (sister wasn't born that time yet). I really wanted to take a glimpse of my past and in 2008, I was able to do that when...

...we attended a baptism in the very same church where I was baptized. Our next door neighbor got married in this church, and chose to have their kids baptized here, too. I wasn't able to attend their first born's baptism, so for their second child, I really made sure I'd attend it.

It was a nice feeling to see the church in person. Before, I only had the pictures... now I have a much deeper memory of it. By the way, I asked my sister take a picture of me right in this spot because the first picture was actually taken in that spot (I just cropped the picture when I uploaded it in Multiply many years back). Awesome how some things didn't change.
