With Abing

Happy Hump Day, peeps!

My Facebook and my Travel Blog are both one year delayed when it comes to sharing photos and life stories. In both sites, I started sharing photos a bit behind than the actual time I opened it - for instance on my travel blog, I created it January 2010, yet I started with travel stories from 2009. Same goes with my Facebook photo albums.

Anyway, I am currently in the process of editing pictures from May 2010 when I saw this picture:

Jenn and Abing

That's me and my niece Abing, who is the second daughter of my cousin Ailene. This picture was taken at a fish cage where cousin Ailene's current boyfriend was working. This isn't my main image share for Nostalgia and Flashback Friday as this wasn't from too long ago, but seeing this picture of us made me remember a very old picture we had...

I already forgot the exact year this was taken, but during this time, cousin Ailene just got separated with her husband and is pregnant with her third child. She was troubled and all, and she sought refuge here in our house with her new boyfriend (the father of baby she was carrying). Together with the boyfriend and her toddler Abing, they stayed here for a week while the boyfriend was trying to find a job.

This picture was taken the night before they left. We were still using the Instamatic camera and since there was film inside, I asked my sister if she could take a picture of us because she was such a nice and cute kid, which quickly captured my heart.

Time flew fast, and she is now about to finish her elementary school. Although we only got to be together for a week and that she was still very young to remember the first time we met, when I had my vacation in Pangasinan, she knew who I am, and she told me we used to have a picture when she was still very young. Wow, talk about good memory!

It's been a year since I last saw her, but I am hoping I could have a short vacation in Pangasinan this year so I could see her and my relatives again.
