Tuesday Couch Potatoes | Iconic Hats

I missed last week's TCP about fashion (my pick in case you wanna know was "The Emperor's New Groove" animated movie released in 2000). This week, it's all about iconic hats, and while my first choice would have been "Legends of the Fall" because it featured this awesome image of Brad Pitt tipping his hat when he greeted Julia Ormond, I decided to choose this movie instead:

Chaplin (1992). Chaplin is a 1992 biographical film about the life of English comedian Charlie Chaplin. It was produced and directed by Richard Attenborough and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Dan Aykroyd, Kevin Kline, and Anthony Hopkins. It also features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of her own paternal grandmother, Hannah Chaplin.

The film was adapted by Diana Hawkins, William Boyd, Bryan Forbes and William Goldman from the books My Autobiography by Chaplin and Chaplin: His Life and Art by film critic David Robinson. The original music score was composed by John Barry. SOURCE

Long before he became Iron Man, he was Chaplin first. I first got to watch this movie in college during a film showing. At that time he is already my favorite actor, so I am a bit biased, but really, even he isn't your favorite, I am sure you will commend Robert Downey Jr.'s acting in this movie.

I am not a fan of the slapstick comedies and I didn't get to watch a whole lot of his short films, but this movie made me appreciate him as a person, as a thespian, and as a lover. Actually, I got to thank this TCP prompt because I am now starting to watch his old movies through YouTube. Currently, while typing this I have the "boxing" flick on (waiting for it to buffer). After this, I will go and watch it.

By the way, this movie is available on YouTube in case you wanna watch it. :)
