TCP - "Generation Gap"

I think I am having fun doing TCP during Mondays, it's like starting the week being a couch potato, hahaha. This week, it's about the "Generation Gap," and the first flick that came to mind was this:

Duplex (2003). Stars Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore, Duplex is a story of a young couple (Alex and Nancy Kendricks) who moved in a Duplex, which seemed to be the best place for them to live. However, the "dream house" became a house of nightmare, when the old tenant upstairs started ruining their life by asking little favors or making unnecessary noises, to the point that they were already having problems at work. The height of the movie was when they used up all their resources to hire someone to kill Mrs. Connelly (the old lady), but failed to do so. When they decided to evict themselves, Mrs. Connelly died when they left. In the end, it has revealed that the old lady, the landlord and the cop were doing this to everyone staying at the duplex (harassing them and faking the death of the old lady) to collect commission. The film was directed by Danny DeVito.

When I first watched this (well, I only got to watch it once, actually), I couldn't recall how many times I laughed. The annoying old lady was so good that the situation was just downright hilarious. However, as the scenes progressed, I was so annoyed that I was more stressed than entertained. :) I think everyone who has had major neighbor problems could relate to the movie, and while we haven't experienced anything like that, I gave the film a thumbs up for touching the viewers' emotions.
