How I Celebrated VDay

Sunrise on Valentine's Day

14 February 2o11

Monday is the only day during the week that our neighbor Ria could join us for jogging, and since I have been bringing my camera for a few days already, I felt I am eating some of my sister's time by taking pictures while she jogs ahead of me. Today I decided to leave my camera, but I still took my cell phone with me because of my 365 Strangers project.

As usual, we walked from our place to Colinas Verdes... and seeing the sunrise, I just couldn't help not to stop and take a picture. I can't zoom in (as my cell phone's camera only has digital zoom), but I guess when someone sees a good subject, it would be difficult not to stop to freeze that moment.

Grass

Grass. My sister's right foot was swelling a little, so she couldn't jog - she could just walk. Ria and I jogged a distance, and seeing that we were getting quite far from sister, we stopped a bit to wait for her. I took this picture while waiting.

Me not jogging yesterday made my muscles relaxed (I guess) that it was difficult for me to jog. My calves were cramping a bit, and when Ria suggested we'd walk faster instead of jogging, it made me more uncomfortable. I then just walked at my own pace.

Taho

Taho. We didn't go that far today. When we walked out, we saw a taho (soft bean curd with caramel and tapioca pearls) vendor, so we bought a cup each. This was my favorite breakfast when I was a child, but as I grew up I am not liking it that much. It's been years since I last ate this, so tasting it again gave me a nostalgic feeling, but I don't think I can eat it as often as I did when I was a kid.

Black Chili

Black Chili. We walked going there, so we walked going back home. Along the way, I saw this chili plant... with black colored fruits. Amazing!

Flowers

Flowers. Today is Valentine's Day, and in front of us was a mother holding his son while walking, and it was just cute to see the boy holding a toy car with some bougainvillea flowers. Sweet!

I didn't celebrate Valentine's Day in a romantic way (but I did get a message from K), but it was great that I was able to celebrate it by paying my physical self and my health a little attention. Single people aren't really alone it seems, as I still have myself to love.
