Fruit of Labor

Chili Finger

I cannot recall if I already shared it here, but one time last year, my sister and I cooked some Dinamita Wraps and I just scattered the seeds of the chili finger in a pot with soil. Soon after, life was starting to come out, but a few months more, I realized the plants were not really getting bigger.

I took the time to transfer the much bigger plants in a separate pot, but I feared I did harm than good because a few days after the leaves were falling off one by one. I am not gifted with a green thumb, so I thought back then the chili plant might not survive, but my watchful eyes helped them to carry on.

Last week, I noticed a fruit coming out.... finally! I was really, really happy seeing the fruit, that even if I know it would still take time for the fruit to be ready for harvest, I already had this feeling that I did something good. I do hope the other plants will follow, and now that I know I can help cultivate a plant, I am thinking of planting my next crop: tomato.
