06|52. Abandoned.

When I first saw the list of prompts, this one clearly became the most difficult to interpret. After I post my take for the 5th week, I am always thinking of how to present this prompt, and yesterday, while getting ready to meet up with my family at a mall, the answer came.

06|52. Abandoned.

06|52. Abandoned.

That's me in my room. For someone who likes her files all sorted out, I am the exact opposite when it comes to cleaning, in general. I like to keep things in order, yet the thought of me cleaning makes me really lazy.

A little something about the room: As soon as we moved here in 1985, I have been sharing this room with people - first with my brother, as the house was small and it had two bedrooms only, and since we were kids yet, we just shared. When sister was born three years after, our cousin lived with us and us three were sharing the room (the room had two bunk beds that time). Soon after, parents decided to renovate the house to accommodate a third room, brother occupied it and my sister and I shared this room. We shared this room until dad's death in 2007... then sister moved over to mom's room so mom will not be alone sleeping at night.

At a certain time, I slept here alone, until I realized the problems with the beds. Actually, before there were two beds, but one we gave away because the bugs created holes and cracked the bed frame. The remaining bed has bugs inside (even if we cured it with pesticides they were still alive inside), and since it has been eating part of the headboard, I decided not to sleep in the room anymore. For more than two years now, I have been sleeping in our living room floor, using a futon.

The room then became abandoned. My closet is still there, of course, but it became a hiding place of unwanted things, and every time we have guests, people will just throw things in the room to make the living room clean. Far too many things to clean up, and I seriously need an OC friend who can help me clean up the mess.

My mom and I are now talking about disposing the bed and getting a new bunk bed, in case some relatives would stay here. We don't own a car so thinking how to transport it is still the main topic, but after this post, this room will be squeaky clean by next week, because a cousin is about to stay here in our house for three months, and he will use the room.
