It's not my favorite color, but I love to own red colored things. I prefer my bags and wallets in red, but when it comes to shoes, I am a little apprehensive in trying out red shoes because I feel it won't suit my dark skin. Add to that the very little choices of footwear that would fit someone like me - I wear a size 9. It is a dream of mine to wear red shoes (that is not sneakers or running shoes), and unexpectedly, a dream came true before the year ended.



My sister loves shoes. She has quite a collection of footwear, and even if I think her shoes seemed lavish, I am thankful as well because at times I could borrow her shoes especially if I wanted to take some self portraits. One time, we went to the mall, and she suggested we go to the shoes section so she can try out some pairs.

I am not planning to buy any footwear, so I just sat and wait for her to pick out the shoes she wanted to try. From the corner of my eye, I saw a stack of shoe boxes with different samples at the topmost part. I spotted a pair of red shoes, so I quickly checked the stack if it had a size 9 pair. I was so excited when I found one.

It was a very simple pair of flat shoes, pretty cheap, too, but I didn't bring enough money that day. I actually am not sure if I can carry this color, but for one moment in my life, I got to feel like Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) wearing these shoes. That, I am already thankful.
