Dinner at Racks

01 December 2010

Cousin Mhai decided to stay with us when she traveled from La Union. She will submit some documents for employment abroad, and it was a pleasure for us to have her here in the house. She and brother went to the agency, and since it was sister's day off, all of us decided to meet up for dinner.

We arrived earlier than mom, so sister and I walked around to look for a place to eat. We were surprised that Racks already opened - we actually didn't realize there was a new restaurant there; their spot used to belong to Metro Tokyo Tokyo. Anyway, brother was pushing us to eat at Tong Yang, but mom and I weren't much into it. Sis suggested we eat at Racks instead, and mom liked the idea.

Food

Choosing what to order was quite difficult because we are a bunch of people with different preferences. In the end we chose to get their "Surf and Turf" meal - which was actually good for 8 people. Well, it seemed as if it was good for 5 people only. Hahahaha. The meal included: 1 serving of carbonara with garlic bread, 1 big plate of rice, mac & cheese, corn chowder, coleslaw, 4 thick cuts of baby back ribs, fish & chips, and 2 pitchers of drink (we opt to have 1 pitcher of iced tea and 1 pitcher of Coke). Mom and Mhai shared one cut of the ribs, and even if one person can eat one cut of the ribs, I wasn't able to eat it all. The leftover ribs we took home for the cats to eat (sosyal). We also had one dessert, which we all shared. We figured we just needed something sweet to cut the "umay" flavor in our mouths.

It was a very heavy dinner, and I loved it.
