Early Dinner at Mexicali

Ever since I read the book "The Secret," I have transformed the way I think. It was a great change on my part - dwelling on the small happiness and seeing things in their positive ways, and I am happy that now I am stressing much on the goodness out of anything, my life is a bit lighter, and my overall outlook in life has been good. Seeing this happiness meme came at the right time, and now that I am an advocate of all things positive, I decided to join in.

This week, happiness is all about sharing a hearty meal with my mom. It was supposed to us three (mom, bro, and I), but brother didn't want to come with us. Good thing mom still pushed through with the idea of going to the mall, and because one of our neighbors was going to the mall as well, we decided to travel together. She would be buying groceries at a different supermarket, but mom asked her if she could meet us after an hour so we can travel back home together as well.

I didn't eat lunch (because I thought we would eat lunch at the mall), so after buying the groceries, mom asked me where I want to eat. Brother's not with us, so I told I wanted to eat at Mexicali. At first, there was some hesitations on my mind because mom might not like Mexican food, but I was happy that she liked the chicken enchilada she ordered. I decided to go for the basic quesadilla and a cup of chili con carne, and it was really, really good. We tagged our neighbor to eat with us, and us three shared the foods - I gave them one slice each of the quesadilla, the neighbor gave me 1/4 of her roasted pork burrito, and I got a taste of mom's enchilada.

I have always been a fan of Mexican food, and I am happy that not only did I share a great early dinner with two lovely ladies, I was happy mom liked her food, too. It's so great to hear the "Ummmm... great," "Ummmm... nice" everytime we would chew on our food. :)

Now I know, we would be eating there again. Hmm, thinking about that makes me happy already!
