All About Me: Days 5 - 8

#05 - Your Favorite Quote

Fave Quote

This was the particular quote, which I first read at a magazine opened my mind in many things. In a literal aspect, it made me open up my travel blog, Where My Feet Took Me. Digging deep, the phrase "you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do" was a constant reminder I give myself whenever I don't want to do something. This quote has taught me to try harder, and yes to explore, dream, and discover.

Thank you, Mark Twain! :)

By the way, the quote card above I created on GIMP using a scrapbook paper from Flair Designs, and using the fonts Calibri and CK Ali's Hand Official.

# 06 - Twenty of Your Favorite Things

Enter a song from "The Sound of Music." Hehehehe... Twenty of my favorite things? Hmmm... it would be difficult to narrow it to twenty, so I would just say these are the first twenty favorite things that popped in my head:

With Kitty Paborito

  1. Food Trips with My Family. It doesn't matter where... sharing food with them and us eating together will always be priceless.
  2. My Cats. Currently, I have seven cats, which I love tremendously. I treat them as if they are my babies, but my favorite would always be this black cat, which I named Paborito (tagalog for "favorite"). When I gave him his name, he was just still so small (eyes aren't opened yet). It was just so impulsive of me to name him Paborito, but turned out, he is my favorite. I do love my other six cats, but I guess all of us can play favorites.
  3. My Blogs. I have four blogs I update everyday if can: Where My Feet Took Me, which documents all sorts of trips I do - food trips, walk trips, side trips, out of town trips, etc etc. Shutter Happy Moments is my photo blog, which I sub-titled "A point and shooter's photo blog," because I wanted to make a statement that even point and shoot camera users can still take good pictures. I also have a food blog, which I called I Live to Eat! Obviously the fourth blog is this one. I love my blogs because it's an extension of who I am as a person, a traveler, a photographer, and a foodie. Each of this blogs were a product of my talents, imaginations, and passions, and are very important to me. As a blogger, I do take to heart the objectives I have, and NOT just blog just so I could blog.
  4. Flickr. It is where I store all the pictures I took (and some images I needed to host), it's one of my beloved site because my dear K gifted me with a PRO account because he recognized my talent, and 3 years after, I still am a PRO user because of him. Just recently, Getty Images contacted me to open my account with them because someone wanted to license one of my images. Wow!
  5. My Cooking. I have always been the "taster," until I started trying out recipes gathered from magazines, tv, books, and Internet. I still don't know if my cooking is good (I still haven't tried letting other people taste it - I only cook for my family), but I am loving the fact that I am now comfortable in the kitchen. These recipes I try weren't only for the sake of finding myself in the kitchen, I also document it in my food blog.
  6. My Netbook. Finally, a computer I can call "mine."
  7. My Point and Shoot Camera. Despite the limitations, I am a happy photographer whenever I take good pictures. My camera and I go hand-in-hand, and I just love how a compact little camera has allowed me to take pictures and document my life.
  8. Facebook. A lot of people didn't like it, but I love it because it's where I was able to find people from my past, and it is where I interact with people I don't get to see everyday.
  9. Spaghetti and Chicken. My top two favorite foods. It's so funny, if I eat a different kind of pasta, I would tell it's starchy even if it's drowned in sauce. Yet, I would never complain even if I would eat spaghetti noodles with just a little butter and salt. As for the chicken, I can go with any dishes, but I don't eat the breast part.
  10. You Tube. Where I could watch episodes of my favorite foreign tv shows that aren't shown here in the Philippines. At times, it's also where I was able to watch certain movies I haven't watched yet, especially the unreleased movies from different countries.
  11. Pen and Notebook. Whenever I go out (even if it's grocery day), I always have a small notebook and a pen in my bag, because I know inspirations are just about any and everywhere, and because I tend to forget some things, the pen and notebook are my memory savers.
  12. Yellow Tulips. My favorite flower. I love yellow flowers and tulips of any color in general, but if I have to pick just one flower, it would have to be this.
  13. Reality TV. I just love it. However, that DOESN'T mean I love all reality tv shows. I love the competition shows - Survivor, the Amazing Race, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, Hell's Kitchen, and The Biggest Loser... but I am not much into dating shows and shows that follow celebrities. One exception I had, though, was the reality show featuring the Osbournes. I love that.
  14. Coffee. Morning is never complete without it.
  15. Out of Town Travels. I love to travel, but because I am not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, this is something I don't normally do...which is why it's a favorite. :)
  16. Yahoo Messenger. The bridge that connects me to my friends and relatives.
  17. Hip Hop Abs. My daily sweater.
  18. Photowalks. A good way to combine fitness with the love for photography.
  19. Hanson. My ultimate favorite band.
  20. The Colors Pink and Lavender. So girly!
#07 - A Photo That Makes You Happy

Dumaguete Sunrise

I am a morning person. Despite being one, it's rare for me to see the sunrise because our house faces west. I am at my happiest whenever I see the sunrise, and this picture was just one of the very few sunrise picture I took. This one was taken in Dumaguete, during my travel there with K in 2008.

#08 - A Photo That Makes You Sad

127/365 c2 - A Mother in Need

I took this picture using my cell phone after I did some errand. This sight made me sad because I feel pity for the mother who had to sit and beg for some help just so she could feed her baby. It makes me sad to see other people suffer like this, but at the same time it makes me humbled and thankful. Thankful that I am who I am, thankful that I am not in her shoes, thankful that despite the many things I don't have, I still am much, much more blessed.
