"Little Women" (1994). The first time I got to learn about the March sisters was through the Tagalized (translated to Tagalog or Filipino language) cartoon called "Little Women 2." I wasn't really a bookworm and I wasn't trained to read books (I only read my school books) so I was really clueless about it - I just knew it was a story. Claire Danes is one of my favorite actresses, so when I saw a VCD copy of this movie, I immediately bought it. Funny... I first knew about the part 2 before I knew about how the whole story started.
I think all of us know the story of Little Women, so no need to write the synopsis. Although the story centered on Jo (played by Winona Ryder), their mother Marmee (played by Susan Sarandon) had her share in the story. I loved that scene where the whole family gathered together when their father came home. I guess in some ways, each family could relate to the March family.
"Little Women" was adapted from the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and is directed by Gillian Armstrong.
