June 2010 Photo Hunt Results

Time for another photo hunt. This is my third time to join, and although some of the items were a bit difficult to hunt, I was happy to be able to hunt all images within the month of June. Here's my take on the June 2010 photo hunt:

01 - Hilarious Outake

01 - Hilarious Out Takes

Hilarious in a cute way. The bigger cat is actually the big brother, but since the new kittens were born, Oreo didn't have any problems welcoming the new addition to the family. He especially likes this kitten - probably because they look alike - and he would even groom this kitten, and yes sleep next to it.

155/365 c2 - Flower Strands

02 - Creative Crop

The name of the flower is Powderpuff Lily (some call it Ball Lily), and because the flower looked like a ball, I decided to take my lens closer and capture it strands. The rain just fell, hence the water drops in the flower.

03 - Sun Flare

La Mesa Eco Park - Quezon City

Possibly the most difficult item to hunt because it rained here almost everyday... but was lucky to take this picture when my friend Halie and I went to the park for some photo walking.

04 - Sweet Dreams

The mother cat takes the time to sleep with her little one after eating dinner. The two other kittens were busy playing.

05 - Work

05 - Work
30 June 2010
ACE Hardware - SM City Fairview
Sony Ericsson K800i

Seeing mascots certainly makes people smile - and it especially makes kids happy, but I do wonder how the person inside the costume feels... oh well, all in a day's work.

166/365 c2 - Fight Club

06 - Play
15 June 2010
Canon Powershot A1000is

I only intend to take a picture of the two ants fighting over the black ant, but as I hit the shutter, it was able to capture this scene - where the third ant looked as if he was the referee.

07 - Picnic

07 - Cookout / Picnic
13 June 2010
La Mesa Eco Park - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

The park is one big place for families to do picnics and to just enjoy a day out.

08 - Transportation

Eastwood City Libis - Quezon City

After eating dinner, my friend Halie and I roamed around the area and saw a car show. Seeing this car reminded me of "Baywatch," a TV show I loved watching before.

09 - Currency

My dad was born in a very poor family, but he was able to collect some silver coins from the past. Believe it or not, these coins had the symbol of the United States of America on one side, and the symbol of the Philippines on the other side. These were real silver, and my parents' wedding rings were actually made from some of the coins in the collection.

164/365 c2 - Father and Son

10 - Fountain
13 June 2010
UP Ayala Land Techno Hub - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

One of the pictures I took when my friend Halie and I went on a photo walk. Seeing the father carry his son made me feel nostalgic - I missed my dad suddenly.

11 - Night Scene

11 - A Night Scene

Eastwood City Libis - Quezon City

People crossing the zebra lines. One of the last few images I took while in the area.

12 - Selective

12 - Black and White with Selective Coloring

A bug I saw in our neighbor's vegetable garden.

13 - Old

My dad's dog tag while doing his ROTC (Reserved Officers Training Corps) in college.

14 - New

Pocky... my newest addiction. It's just so delicious!

15 - Borrowed

Because of my weight, there are only two places where I could wear high heeled shoes: at home and in my dreams. Most of my footwear were flip flops, so during times when I wanted to play with some shoes, I would just wear my sister's shoes, since she's more of a shoe person than I am.

165/365 c2 - A Bug's Life

16 - Something Blue
14 June 2010
Canon Powershot A1000is

A picture I took specifically for this hunt... I know Flik is the main character in the movie "A Bug's Life," but Dim looked bluer than Flik, so I placed Dim at the front. These toys were just some of the toys in our collection that we got from McDonald's Happy Meal.

17 - Musical

17 - Something Musical
05 June 2010
Eastwood City Libis - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

The soonest time we arrived in Eastwood City, we heard a band playing music, and we knew we already have our "Something Musical." This band was playing Switchfoot's "I Dare You to Move."

18 - Purple

18 - Something Purple
13 June 2010
UP Ayala Land Techno Hub - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

The balls scattered around the fountain area of the Techno Hub lits up come dusk, and it was just amazing that it changes colors after a few seconds. I still didn't have something purple the time I shot this, so I patiently waited for the balls to turn purple.

19 - Yellow

19 - Something Yellow
13 June 2010
Lung Center of the Philippines weekend market - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

Yellow really is the happiest of all colors. Seeing yellow flowers never fail to make me smile. Seeing this in one of the plant stalls in the weekend market quickly made me take a picture of it. I was having major back pain that day, so I wasn't really able to make lots of shots, so I feel lucky to be able to snap this.

20 - Scenic

20 - Something Scenic
13 June 2010
La Mesa Eco Park - Quezon City
Canon Powershot A1000is

The lagoon, located outside the park. People can rent the boats and enjoy paddling it. As for me, I'd rather just take a picture of it.

That's it! Despite the back pains, the rains, and being confined at home most of the time, I still was able to hunt all items. If you've been to Halie's photo hunt results, you might see some of our pictures were similar - that was because we went out two times in June do some photo walking and photo hunting as well.

'til next time!
