May was the month when I spent more time in the kitchen, thanks to a contest by Yummy Magazine that got me cooking three dishes from the magazine. In turn, my brother also cooked around 3 or 4 dishes (different from the ones I cooked), and this was the month that I had the most food pictures. I was also blessed to go places this month. For someone who already told she will not travel unless it was free, I am indeed a blessed traveler.
Here are my top 5 May pictures, based on the order when they were taken:

122/365 - Last of Bolinao
Binabalian Loob Port - Bolinao, Pangasinan
02 May 2010
{Canon Powershot A1000is}
My week-long stay in my maternal hometown has been one of my best stays there. I am very happy to have seen such spectacular sights and experience great memories.

127/365 - A Mother in Need
Lagro, Quezon City
07 May 2010
{Sony Ericsson K800i}
After the bank errand, I hoped to see a food place where I could get cooked food so I won't cook lunch anymore, and crossing the street, I saw this mother with a baby begging for some help. My heart melted, but something in me was a bit angry at the mom, too, for letting the baby suffer like that.

136/365 - Purple Lotus
Market One - Lung Center of the Philippines
Quezon Avenue, Quezon City
16 May 2010
{Canon Powershot A1000is}
I always see white with yellow lotus flowers... so when I saw one that was purple and yellow, I quickly took a picture of it. The sun was shining harshly, but somehow I guess it was okay.

146/365 - It's a Hairy Situation
Mom's Room
26 May 2010
{Sony Ericsson K800i}
I am just happy that I am starting to be confident in front of the camera as well. :)

151/365 - A Chicken Dish
Our Home
31 May 2010
{Canon Powershot A1000is}
I was happy that my kitchen experiment came out okay... hmmm, I would like to say better than okay, actually. It was really good.
Lessons learned:
- Food can be a very great subject for P365. Just take a picture of your lunch or dinner, and you got youself a photo for the day. :)
- Always open your schedule for photo walks.
- Don't be afraid to ask help if you feel you're in a hurdle.
- Try your hands in cooking. Not only you get to learn how to cook, you can also get some sense of fulfillment, and you will also show a side of you not known to many people.
- Even if you're the "photographer," you also have the right to be in front of the camera.
- If you're afraid to take out the camera and take pictures of random people, use your cell phone and discreetly take the pictures.
For the month of June, I am hoping I could lessen the food pictures and try taking pictures of different subjects, just to widen the horizon.
