Coke Winner!

Before 2009 ended, I found myself joining contest after contest that has something to do with resolutions. While majority were about winners winning 2010 planners (which I didn't win, by the way), I also joined this contest by Coca-Cola.

I first knew about it through a friend in Facebook. I saw in the news feed that this friend just joined the Coke contest, and seeing that I only got to post a resolution to qualify, I decided to join. I forgot what resolution I wrote, but I am sure it was about losing weight or looking at life in a positive perspective.

Last week, I received three messages saying that I am one of the winners. At first I thought it was a prank because the sender was asking me for my full name, address, and birthdate. With so many hoopla on the Internet, I responded with, "Is this for real?" Of course, my response still had some respect to it, and I got a response with a link to the official Facebook page that my name was indeed included. They have been trying to contact me regarding the matter, but because our PC died, it was just two Mondays ago (from this writing) that I received the message, and the awarding will be Friday that week. Good thing I went to a cafe! :)

Anyway, since Friday (26 February) was the day I traveled to Baguio City, I dropped by the Coke office first for the awarding. I got lost in the way, good thing the taxi I hailed had a driver who was once a truck driver for Coke. I was a bit late for the awarding, but happy to be able to be part of the group picture. Still waiting to have a copy of it, though. :)

The prize kit included an iPod Nano (8gb) and a Nike sports kit for iPod. I still haven't used it since I received it, my sister said that I still need to get an adaptor so I could charge the gadget. I am not in a rush, I still am trying to list down the songs I plan to put in my new baby. Any ideas?

Anyway, while in the Coke office, I had a short chit-chat with one of the organizers, and they asked if I really eyed at winning. I told them I did acknowledge that there is a real contest going on, but I just joined for the heck of it. I am not really into gadgets like the iPod, but then I decided to join because I know that if I do, chances for the others to win will decrease because I will be sharing the chances with them. I didn't really hoped to win, but since I did, I am very thankful. I am happy that resolutions aren't really meant to be written and forgotten. On some rare occasions, resolutions can also mean having a new gadget.

Thanks a lot, Coke Zero!
