24 July 2009
After fixing ourselves, some of us went our way to the conference site - The CAP Building in Camp John Hay. The conference itself will start late in the afternoon, but because we still have to get our tickets for the workshops, we had to be in the site earlier.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a group of dancers dancing into the traditional Igorot dance. It was a great sight, especially when the dancers started asking delegates to join them. My companions were already inside the building reserving seats...had I wasn't left alone in watching the dancers, I would like to dance with them. =)

At around 5:30PM, the conference opened with a Eucharistic Celebration, celebrated by Fr. Xavier Olin, SJ, and pretty much after, the praise fest started. I have always loved doing the praise fest, and even if we sat quite far from the stage, there were no reason for us not to sing our hearts out for God.

This was my second conference - the first conference I attended was the SFC ICon in Cebu City last February. Comparing the two conferences, ICon had sessions / talks on Day 1, whereas in this conference, instead of having the first session on Day 1, we watched a showcase of talents in "SFCs Got Talent." Some sang, others danced. Because we sat at the backmost part of the conference hall, we weren't able to see much of the first few performers, but because our chapter will perform, too, Jhen and I decided to work our way near the stage.
I don't know if I will say this, but okay, I will say it. While watching the performances, I told Jhen I hope I could get to see my crush - and when I snapped a picture of the band from South A, I was surprised to see my crush there. =) =) =)

All the talents were great, but of course for us, the best would have to be the performers from North A. Three of the dancers came from our chapter - Emer, Rhea, and Daisy. I thought they would dance the "Jai Ho," but seeing them do a different dance made me more proud that this group of talented people are showcasing their talents for the Lord. This dance won them the second place. The first place belonged to Rhea Bernandez of Central C. She sang a song she personally wrote; not only did she have a great voice, her song was wonderfully written, too!

Speaking of winners, our sector - North A was named the Biggest Delegation. We were a bit surprised with that, because whenever the hosts would ask each sector to shout out when called, the North sector weren't that loud compared to the other sectors. But of course, we were all happy to be part of the biggest delegation for the Metro Manila Conference.
They also named two winners for the best in costume - both of them will get free registration for the next ICon in Davao City. Congrats!

We left soon after, because the conference didn't cover our dinner, most of us weren't able to eat much. The bus passed by the mall so some would take out foods, and before we retired for the night, we all gathered on the boys' room to honor our brother, Roel as he celebrated his birthday.
What a great night, indeed!
