Sometime last week, I saw a Plurk message from Azrael saying he will blog hop on food blogs featuring restaurants / foods from food places. I was able to write an entry on C' Italian Dining (Angeles, Pampanga), so I linked my entry as a response to the Plurk. After sometime, Az responded to his own Plurk saying that the people who responded to the message will be invited for a blog event come Friday, 08 May.

Based on the e-mail I received, the event will be organized by Playboy Philippines. I had no clue about it until I arrived in A.Venue Mall in Makati Avenue. Playboy Magazine Philippines was unveiling their May Cover, and in a way, I felt happy to be there. *grins*




The event was held in Zenses Neo Shanghai Cuisine, a new food place in the area. They provided us unlimited finger foods to munch on and unlimited drinks as well. It was an open bar, whatever you want to drink, just tell them and they'll give it. The finger foods were delicious, but one didn't pass to my taste as it had lychees. I really don't like the taste of lychee!

Their foods aren't the typical Chinese foods served in Chinese Restaurants. Actually, if it not for the Chinese symbol and the word "Chinese" in the name of the resto, I would never say it was a Chinese Restaurant. Totally different.. which is good.

They also have this concoction, the Sweater. It's the strongest drink in the house, a mix of Absynthe (spell check please), tequila, a secret ingredient, and liquid nitrogen. I gave it a taste and it was delicious. Quite sweet, it's not that strong when you drink it, but after a few minutes, you will realize why it was called that - it really made anyone who drink it sweaty. It was warm in the tummy, and I felt like I was blushing. But hey, I wasn't drunk. I haven't been drunk yet.






Soon, it was time to unveil the cover. This month's cover girl is the actress Aiza Marquez. It was my first time to meet her personally, and she was really friendly in person. She smiles a lot, and very, very pretty. They were telling stories about how their photoshoot came, and the bosses of Playboy Magazine were all praises on her as she was able to do the shoot on a cold stormy day. Also present in the event was Suan Javinez, the playmate of the month. From what I heard of, she's a flight attendant.

Soon after the unveiling ceremonies, Aiza and Suan signed autographs. Attendees were given postcard like copies of the cover, and I let Aiza sign mine with my brother's name on it. I told my family through text that it was a Playboy event I attended and I think my brother would appreciate the gesture of having an autographed photo of a celebrity.

The night ended around 10PM, but my day was just beginning...
