The Day I Turned 29

I was supposed to talk about the bloggers' event at Enchanted Kingdom, but I am still trying to find the blog addresses of the bloggers who attended the event and check if they have posted pictures already so I could grab it. I might talk about it tomorrow, so for now, allow me to share this story.

Yesterday, I turned 29. For some, that's considered old, and some might even consider hiding their age, but not me. I am always proud to say how old I am, 'coz let's face it, not everyone can live as long as I can. For my 29th birthday, a friend promised to treat me out, but he had a flight to Cebu, so all plans were cancelled. I didn't want to stay home and let my day pass by just like that, so when my sister said she will treat me to lunch, my face lit up. =)

29!

Sis and Jenn

Sister said we should eat at a place we haven't eaten yet. We checked Napoli Ristorante, but their foods were way too expensive, so we decided to just walk towards the annex of the mall. As we walked, we crossed paths with two staffs from French Baker, so we decided, why not? We certainly haven't eaten there.

I was eyeing their pasta because I have read raves about their pasta, but since sister was going to eat their rice meal, I figured might as well go heavy. Sister had their baked chicken and I had their hickory spareribs. My meal originally had mashed potatoes and dinner rolls, but since I am not into breads, I asked my rolls to be replaced with rice. Soon after, the crew said their mashed potatoes wasn't ready yet, so if I want, I could wait or just have two servings of buttered corn and carrots. I already fell out of love for mashed potatoes, so okay, I'd have two servings of the corn and carrots.

Their foods are truly delicious! My hickory spareribs were juicy, marinated well, and not really saucy. Their mushroom gravy was heavenly! Sister and I were raving about the food every time we would put a spoonful in our mouth. Thanks for the treat, sis!

Chickin and Supahgetti

We passed by Storyland and did a little grocery shopping before I went home. Sister went to school, but promised to be home by dinner so we could eat together. For dinner, I just cooked simple spaghetti and fried chicken. I was hoping to cook carbonara, but I cannot find the exact bacon Halie used in her dish, so I just went with the typical Filipino style spaghetti. The chicken, I marinated with milk, chopped garlic and calamansi juice for three hours and dredged in chicken breading mix before frying. Sister didn't come home for dinner, my mom didn't really love the food, and I was a bit sad. Well, the spaghetti lacked salt, I admit, but I got a little hurt that she questioned if I didn't marinate the chicken. Couldn't she taste the garlic in the chicken?

Birthday Greetings

Anyway, quite a lot of friends greeted me today. First to greet me on my birthday itself was my brother's girlfriend. Thanks a lot, sis! My Hanson friends made this little digital card - with Taylor Hanson's face in it. I am way too touched. An online buddy from India called on my cell phone just to greet me, while my friend who was supposed to treat me out flooded the boards with birthday greetings for me. My dear friend K chatted with me and blew some kisses on the webcam as well. There wasn't no definite celebration, but I am happy for this day. To all those who greeted, my sincerest thank you to each and everyone of you.

Boitdey Self Portrait

Last year, since I had a means to capture pictures of myself, I decided to take self portraits on my birthday, and I chose this one. I was always smiling in pictures, why not do a different one this time? I wore this blouse while doing the road trip in Bohol, and I wanted to show this to K. K... see, I gained weight!

Again, big thanks to all those who greeted. If you want to send gifts, PM me for my address. Lolz.
