Fave Romantic Movie

I am a real sucker for romantic movies! I love movies that would make me cry, and if I could name my most favorite romantic movie, it would have to be "the Notebook." Actually, this movie is one of my 10 ten movies of all time. The first time I saw it, I cried a river and up until now, when I looked up for the trailer in You Tube, I cried again just watching it!

Lines from the movie I love:
  • "The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more.. that plants fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me..."
  • "Okay, the way I see it I got three choices. One, I can shoot him. Two, I can kick the crap out of him. Three, I can leave you. But all that's no good, you see cause...none of those options give me you. And inspite of everything...I love you."
  • "I want all of you, forever... you and me everyday."
I love everything in this movie - the setting, the story, how it was presented, and the fact that even with time and all the things in between, in the end, it was still them, they were really destined for each other. So many favorite scenes, but my most favorite would have to be the one in the end - when the old Noah went to old Allie's room, and Allie finally remembered him and they slept next to each other in Allie's hospital bed, and the on the next scene, the nurse found them dead - next to each other, holding hands. It was just so touching - a very sweet ending to a very great love story.

I have not seen this movie in the theater. I saw it on TV very recently, as suggested by my daughter. It was a great love story, so touching, and I shed a tear, maybe two. Romantic stories always may me cry.

I love The Notebook...but I didn't like the film version of it all because of one letter that they didn't even mention. It was Noah's last letter that he wrote to Allie which I thought was what really made their love story more romantic.

The movie was okay but it would have been better if that letter was mentioned....

    My entry is also up!
